Can you share a moment when you felt proud of the work you do?
I’m proud of my work as a nurse recruiter because I help connect new graduate and experienced nurses with Magnet‑designated locations where they can make a real difference. One of my favorite things about Corewell Health is our Nursing Scholars Program, where we partner with schools to provide nursing students with scholarships, and help them find employment within Corewell Health upon graduation! If you look to the side, you'll see Shawn Ulreich, DSc, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, the Chief Nurse Executive of Corewell Health West who helped engineer the program, mingling with our GVSU scholars!
What originally drew you to Corewell Health and how has that evolved?
I was drawn to work at Corewell Health because of its strong commitment to serving the community and putting people at the center of everything it does. The mission to improve health, instill humanity, and inspire hope aligns closely with my own values and purpose. Being part of an organization focused on making health care simple, affordable, and exceptional makes my work feel meaningful every day.
Beach vacation or mountain getaway?
For me, the best vacation or mountain getaway is the Upper Peninsula. The natural beauty, quiet trails, waterfalls, and time by Lake Superior make it the perfect place to unplug, recharge, and enjoy the outdoors.
