Hi! My name is Angie. I’m a Recruiter with Corewell Health and support Med Surg RN hiring at our Royal Oak campus. I’ve been with the organization for 19 years, including 13 years recruiting nurses. I love connecting with new RNs looking for their first role and helping them find a position that feels right in a career full of opportunity.
Q&A with Angie
What part of your work makes you feel like you're making a difference?
I’m proud of the impact I make through the relationships I’ve built with my managers. By being a trusted and reliable partner, I help them successfully fill open positions with the right talent. Knowing that my work supports their teams and ultimately contributes to quality patient care is what makes my role so meaningful.
What surprised you when you first started at Corewell Health?
What surprised me most when I started with Corewell Health was realizing I could actually stay awake (and thrive!) while working the midnight shift. I had never worked those hours before, but my first role as a Unit Secretary on midnights challenged me in a great way. It showed me early on that I was capable of more than I expected!
Favorite way to recharge outside of work?
My favorite way to recharge after work is getting out on my bike. Long rides of 10–20 miles help clear my mind and reset any stress from the day. It’s the perfect way for me to unwind and feel re-energized. That same passion is also shared by Corewell Health! If you look to the left, you can see a shot from Children's Bike Day. Each year, Corewell Health’s Center for Children’s Rehabilitation identifies children with special needs to be fitted for and receive a no-cost custom, adaptive bicycle!
