Q&A with Tim
What originally drew you to Corewell Health and how has that evolved?
My interest in Corewell Health was sparked by a personal experience when my son received care at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. This encounter ignited a passion in me to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare field. After joining Corewell Health, my commitment deepened as I witnessed firsthand the vast array of opportunities our organization offers. People are empowered to grow and transition into various roles from the point at which they begin their careers.
What surprised you when you first started at Corewell Health?
What surprised me most when I first started at Corewell was discovering just how many people here share a similar sense of purpose. I expected to find talented professionals, but I was genuinely amazed by the collective dedication to making a meaningful impact. It became clear right away that people at Corewell not only care deeply about the work being done but also about the well-being of their colleagues. There’s a real sense of community, where everyone is committed to supporting one another and striving toward a common goal. That shared passion and genuine care for both the mission and each other truly set Corewell apart for me.
What's your favorite season?
My favorite season is fall. I absolutely love the vibrant color changes that sweep across the landscape during autumn. The reds, oranges, and yellows create a stunning natural display that always makes me appreciate being outdoors. As a huge sports lover, fall is also the season when football, hockey, and baseball are all in full swing. The excitement of cheering for my teams, catching games on weekends, and discussing plays with friends makes autumn especially memorable. There’s nothing quite like the energy and camaraderie that sports bring during this time of year. Another reason I enjoy fall is the cooler temperatures. After the heat of summer, the crisp, refreshing air feels invigorating. It’s perfect for cozy sweaters, outdoor activities, and enjoying seasonal treats. All these aspects together make fall my favorite season.
