Paid internship experiences

When opportunities are available, they are posted on our careers page. Search using the keyword “internship” to find these postings. Students are encouraged to create an account and set up search agents to be automatically notified via email when new positions are posted. These opportunities are identified by individual business units and driven by organizational need. Most paid internships occur in the summer, but may be posted on the job board between October and March. Positions are open to undergraduate or graduate students. Recent graduates may also be eligible.

Unpaid internship experiences

These opportunities are part of a student’s course work and arranged through a hosting department and the college, university or educational institution. An affiliation agreement is required. We are committed to meeting the U.S. Department of Labor Guidelines in terms of what constitutes an unpaid internship experience. Unpaid internships typically occur in areas such as nursing, pharmacy, physical therapy, sterile processing and coding, to name a few, and are often a curriculum requirement. Job shadow experiences

What better way to understand a career than to shadow? A job shadow provides students and other community members the chance to observe a professional and ask questions about their career in a “hands off” environment. If you’re interested in job shadow at Spectrum Health, use your network to connect with a Spectrum Health team member in an area that interests you.
