Kick-start your career As the state's largest employer, we get to care for all of Michigan. Whether clinical, corporate or beyond, Corewell Health has tons of opportunities for students & recent grads.
Student experiences Corewell Health is committed to student learning. If you are a high school or college student exploring career opportunities through a job shadow or internship, great experiences are waiting for you. Please see the information below to learn more.
Paid internship experiences When opportunities are available, they are posted on our careers page. Search using the keyword “internship” to find these postings. Students are encouraged to create an account and set up search agents to be automatically notified via email when new positions are posted. These opportunities are identified by individual business units and driven by organizational need. Most paid internships occur in the summer, but may be posted on the job board between October and March. Positions are open to undergraduate or graduate students. Recent graduates may also be eligible.
Unpaid internship experiences

These opportunities are a part of a student's coursework and are often a curriculum requirement. Unpaid internships for nonclinical and clinical rotations are either pre-established through your educational institution, community organization, or your host, and should be pre-identified prior to request. We are committed to meeting the U.S. Department of Labor Guidelines in terms of what constitutes an unpaid internship experience. An affiliation agreement is required.

Job Shadow Experiences
A job shadow provides students and other community members the chance to observe a professional and ask questions about their career in a “hands-off” environment. These experiences are permitted up to 40 hours per calendar year.

Fill out this form to express interest in a job shadow experience at Corewell Health and get help finding a host. Please note that filling out the form does not guarantee placement, and we are unable to support job shadows with physicians at this time.

The program begins June 29 and concludes on August 14.

Participants must be 16 to 19 years old  and reside in Benton Harbor or Niles, attend a Benton Harbor or Niles area high school, or attend a school of choice while living in Benton Harbor or Niles
