Surgical Technologist Apprentice ProgramThe Surgical Technologist Apprentice Program is a benefit-eligible program with on-the-job learning at Corewell Health. It is a hybrid program model which includes online classes, in person labs in your community and clinicals within the organization. Each week consists of 24 paid hours a week of on-the-job learning and 16 unpaid hours a week of academic learning both in the classroom or online (2 days/week).

Academic Program consists of 63 credit hours:
Surgical Technologist program core – 40 credit hours
General education courses – 16 credit hours
Program related courses – 7 credit hours
Team members will earn an associate degree along with an apprenticeship completion certificate from the US Department of Labor.
Participants are eligible to take the certification exam upon program completion

Participant must have a high school diploma or GED
Participants must have employment with Corewell Health for a minimum of 6 months
Team members will need to be either a valued performer or high performer; however, all aspects of performance will be considered with leadership discretion
Participants must pass a competency-based assessment administered by the education institution
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days preferred Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross preferred.
