Inclusion Resource Groups
Inclusion Resource Groups IRGs (inclusion resource groups) are employee-led and formed around common demographics, characteristics or shared interests. IRGs are successful when they leverage the strength of their diversity to help the organization grow and are most effective when they focus on culture, commerce, career and community.

I love that Spectrum Health offers Inclusion Resource Groups because I get to connect and meet new people outside of my work with similar interests and goals. It allows me to learn about different perspectives and gives me opportunities to lead projects and create meaningful content for others.

I consider myself lucky to be a part of an Inclusion Resource Group because it allows me to build a support network of diverse thinkers where I can connect, challenge and be humbled. Through leveraging the resources that Spectrum Health offers, I'm able to work towards building a platform for those wanting to be heard.

Knowing how many patients we serve, and that 1 in 4 people have a disability, and 1 in 5 are a caregiver means that the AdaptAbilities Inclusion Resource Group allows me to contribute to the organization in truly meaningful ways. From disability awareness, to accessibility tweaks, to transformative work - I know BHSH is committed to improving the accessibility and quality of life at work, and in our communities.

The opportunity to participate in Inclusion Resource Groups allows me to engage in topics I am passionate about outside of work. The ability to collaborate with other likeminded individuals to make a difference is a huge driver for me. IRGs also help me become more aware of topics I am not educated in, therefore helping me to become a better ally to others.

As a member of many different Inclusive Resource Groups at Spectrum Health, I'll always have a sense of belonging. Not only am I able to find support from people with backgrounds similar to my own, I can also depend on IRGs to learn about what makes us all different. I chose to join an IRG to grow my professional network and to share experiences with other team members. Overall, it has been a rewarding experience!
