Hello! I'm April. Going on my 21st year as a Recruiter for Corewell and currently work part time in a job share role—proof that great work life balance is possible! I recruit for Royal Oak Med Surg RNs as well as all Maternal Health RN roles across our East side. I have a special love for helping nurses land their first role or step into their dream Maternal Child Health specialty. When I’m not recruiting, my world revolves around my husband and our three boys, who keep life busy and full of fun.

What keeps you excited about staying at Corewell Health?
What keeps me excited about staying at Corewell is helping people find a job that really fits them. I love the people I work with—they make work enjoyable and supportive. I also really appreciate the flexibility and work-life balance, especially being able to work part‑time while still doing work that matters.
Can you share a moment when you felt proud of the work you do?
I feel proud of my work quite often, but it's even more meaningful when I can help place someone into the Maternal Child Health specialty they’re truly passionate about. Maternal and infant health is a Corewell Health priority, and I love that we demonstrate that outside of the hospitals as well. Our Center for Wellness in Benton Harbor actually helps provide childbirth education classes. You actually can see one of those classes in action in the picture to the side!
